We are proud to launch the Glioblastoma Biobank Project, formally known as Key LARGO (Key Longitudinal Associations with Risk and Glioblastoma Outcomes). This groundbreaking study, conducted at the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, is generously funded by the Glioblastoma Research Organization and StacheStrong, two leading nonprofits dedicated to advancing brain cancer research.
What is Key LARGO?
Key LARGO is a global study that gathers biological samples and detailed surveys from GBM patients to explore how genetic, immune, and lifestyle factors affect outcomes and risk. Participants, including caregivers, contribute data through online surveys and optional at-home blood collection kits.
Why this study is important:
By analyzing these factors, researchers hope to uncover clues that will improve survival rates, enhance quality of life, and make care more accessible and personalized for patients everywhere. This study is about more than data—it’s about empowering the GBM community and driving meaningful change.
Who Can Participate?
- GBM patients: Adults diagnosed with glioblastoma are the primary participants.
- Caregivers: Those providing care to GBM patients can participate in follow-up surveys and a companion study.
- First-degree relatives of GBM patients: Individuals with a familial connection to GBM are invited to contribute to understanding genetic and lifestyle risk factors.
